Shift Supervisors Residential Counselor Positions
Residential Counselor Shift Supervisors (RCSS) supervise Residential Counselors (RC) and general program activities; provides for the care, supervision, observation, and protection of clients; responsible for implementing defined treatment plans and planned activities in collaboration with clinical team; participates in staff treatment planning sessions; schedules work and activity assignments for RCs; completes various logs and reports; dispenses medication to clients; performs minor first aid when necessary; performs liaison functions with authorized representatives and community residents, school personnel, and law enforcement. Residential Counselor (RC) work involves extensive interaction with and direct supervision of adolescent/teenage girls identified as Emotionally Disturbed (ED) living in a therapeutic residential care environment.
In the classroom, the Teacher Assistant (TA) is responsible for providing assistance to the Special Education Instructor. The TA assists with the development and implementation of curriculum for emotionally and behaviorally disordered students. Under guidance of the Special Education Instructor, the TA provides direct instructional services to students and participates in the ongoing assessment and evaluation of student progress. This position also provides direct supervision, support, and safety of all students. The position reports directly to the Special Education Instructor. TA must also successfully pass an Instructional Aide exam administered by the San Juan School District (SJUSD) and must have a minimum of 30 college units with 15 units in behavioral science or psychology. Experience working in a non-public classroom setting with SED population strongly preferred.

Possible Shifts
- Monday-Friday Days (Teachers Assistant/RCSS) Hours (40hrs/week) Monday-Friday 7:00am to 3:00pm
- Sunday-Wednesday (Swing) Hours (40hrs/week) Sunday 8am to 10pm, Monday to Wednesday 2/3pm to 10/11pm
- Thursday-Saturday (Swing) Hours (32hrs/week) Thursday & Friday 2/3pm to 10/11pm, Saturday 8am to 10pm
- On-call (based on your availability- very flexible) can work shifts listed above
NOTE: MANDATORY STAFF MEETING: Tues or Wed 2:15pm to 4:15pm depending on assigned facility.
** Only overnight staff members shifts are able to bring in homework to their shifts.
